This program was developed by The Parenting Place, New Zealand. The principles and ideas contained in the program have been gleaned from many sources. This wealth of knowledge have been drawn from many experts in the area of parenting.
On top of that, you will find that the sharing from other parents in your course will also be a great resource for you. Ideas shared will inspire you in raising the family you always dreamed of.

"My husband and I joined the course at the point when we were getting frustrated with each other about the different parenting styles we had with our two-year-old toddler.
To be honest, we were sceptical if we could commit to the 8-week course but it turned out that the MCO was the best time to unlearn old habits and relearn new tools. We had more opportunities to put those tools into practice and we communicated better with each other.
It was actually fun! Not to mention with all the sessions done online, the time which would have been spent on the road getting to the meeting venue was better utilised for fruitful discussion instead.
Kelvin and Luisa, our facilitators, were not only well prepared, but they were warm, approachable, down to earth and practical. We also enjoyed the open and honest sharing between the couples. It did help that we were already friends.
There was always an important take home message after each session, but I dare say the biggest advantage my husband and I got out of the course was that we walked out of it finally working as a team."

"This course was introduced by one of our close friends, we weren’t sure if we could commit 2 hours every weekend, uninterrupted. Where do we “park” the kids? We checked with our parents if it was possible to stand in 2 hours every weekend for 6-8 weeks and they gladly said yes!
So long story short we traveled back to our parent’s place in Banting every week for the course. Plus point, we had our precious “date” time at a café nearby - just us, for a few hours talking and strategizing after every session on how we would be able to improve and grow as a family.
After the sessions, we would bring the kids to Morib beach just 15mins drive away to enjoy the sand and the sun! Totally a win-win for us all. Trust us, most of us have been using some of the tools but didn’t realize it and unaware of the best way to deploy them with the kids.
This course has given us a big picture, a mind map, GPS to navigate the upbringing of our kids with the right attitude, love and grace. It’s been an incredible journey this past 8 weeks with the Toolbox course, that we have found a way with parenting, and we’ve been truly grateful for this experience.

"We had our reservations before joining the parenting Toolbox course as we would need to juggle the course while caring for two young kids. Will we be able to focus throughout the entire 8 weeks?
Will we distract the facilitators and other parents during the course? However, the facilitators (Luisa & Kelvin) were quick to assure us that it is "normal" and they will support us in any way they can throughout this journey.
